Five numbers every repair shop should watch in 2026
Takings per day is the easy one. These five tell you more, and every one of them is already in your dashboard.
Most shops look at the till at the end of the day and stop there. These five numbers take a minute each and tell you where next month is going.
1. Jobs finished on time
Late jobs are the main reason customers stop coming back. If this slips below nine in ten, look at parts before you look at people.
2. Parts waiting on order
A repair that waits for a part is money sitting on the bench. Set a low stock level for the parts you fit most often and let the system tell you.
3. Second visits
A customer who comes back for a different device is worth more than any advert. Count them, and thank them.
4. Where enquiries come from
Search, social, a card in the window or word of mouth. If you cannot say which one brought this week in, you cannot spend on it.
5. Average job value
Small movements here change the year. Screen protectors, cases and battery checks offered at the counter add up quietly.
